This low vintage Chinese coffer table comes from Shandong Province in China and dates from the 1940s. It has recently been reconditioned in an artisan workshop in Beijing. The distressed red finish is achieved by applying many layers and rubbing back areas between successive layers to reveal the dark undercoat beneath.
The table's compact dimensions and vibrant colour make this the perfect coffee table in the living room or a side table in the office.
