Made in the Northern Chinese Province of Gansu in the 1930s, this beautifully distressed vintage sideboard has been reconditioned in an artisan workshop in Beijing. It has ben it has been repainted in this mid greenish grey colour, laid over cream, with areas of the dark undercoat and pine showing through. It has also been fitted with a removable inner shelf to make the most of the main storage compartment. The simple silhouette, and use of colour, make this a striking as well as practical piece that can add to many rooms in the home.
