This unusual vintage cabinet comes from Shandong Province in Northern China and dates from the 1920s. It has recently been reconditioned in an artisan workshop in Beijing. The distressed turquoise finish is achieved by applying many layers and rubbing back areas between successive layers to reveal the dark undercoat beneath. This striking piece has an unusual design, with staggered cupboards and wavy carving to the sides and feet.
This piece is ideal as an entrance way table, bathroom or bedroom cabinet or even as an office tidy. Wherever it goes, it will make a lovely bohemian touch to any home.
