This Japanese-style cast iron teapot has a ribbed black exterior and a black gloss enameled inside. It holds approximately 0.6l and has a stainless steel removable leaf trap.
Traditionally Japanese cast iron teapots symbolized the everlasting strength and unity of the world and the more intricate are often given as gifts and kept as status symbols. Through special treatments, impurities are removed from the cast iron during the production process. A coating of misty black enamel is then applied to help prevent the formation of rust.
This special piece is very much for everyday use and matching cast iron teacups and a cast iron trivet are available from Rouge, sold separately.
The teapot is 13cm in diameter and 20cm high (including handle). The trivet is 14cm in diameter and 2cm high.
