Chinese New Year Festive Papercut Workshop

Rouge is delighted to host a Papercut workshop for this Chinese New Year. 1st February 2022 welcomes the Chinese New Year of the Water Tiger. Also known as the Spring Festival, this is one of the most important celebrations observed in China and has a great deal of cultural and historic significance. Chinese New Year signals the beginning of spring, the start of a new year in the Chinese lunar calendar and a time to gain new luck.

In this workshop participants will learn traditional papercut techniques to create beautiful paper motifs for the Chinese New Year. Traditionally used as window decoration in China. The workshop is Lead by Yiran Duan of YiCrafts,  the workshop welcomes parents with children over 11 years old. 

Yiran is from China’s Bai ethnic minority, and has broad experience offering traditional Chinese craft techniques, that include design, dying, sewing, and making. She has successfully hosted a Sashiko Stitching workshop at Rouge in Nov 2021

All materials are provided and  Chinese Festive snack and refreshment will be provided.
