This turquoise vintage low table comes from ShanDong Province in Northern China and dates from around 1940. Known as a Kang table, this simple style of small table was used on a 'Kang', a type of raised platform found in the north of China. It has recently been restored in an artisan workshop in Beijing where it was repainted in this vibrant turquoise. This has been rubbed back to show areas of the dark undercoat .
A single drawer, carved wooden apron and delicate legs make this sweet little piece ideal for storage of smaller items, like cables, chargers, kets etc. It can also be used as was intended as a stand for larger pot plants, statues or even as an alter or low coffee table.
It's unusual shape and vintage look will certainly draw attention.
Dimensions: (76w) x 52(d) x 34(h) cm
