This handheld jade tool is known as a gua sha and is traditionally used in China for facial rejuvenation. 'Gua' means to scrape or rub and 'sha' describes the temporary redness that results.
This specially carved jade tool has different curves on each side to access the contours on the human face. The gua sha sweeps the skin, flooding the microcirculation with fresh nutrients which in turn boosts levels of collagen and elastin. Daily practice releases tension, improves lymphatic drainage and gives the skin and facial contours a renewed radiance.
Research shows that when heated gently certified jade radiates healing far-infrared rays. Impressive for a home facial.
A detailed explanation of gua sha and other Chinese self-healing practices can be found in the beautiful book Yang Sheng-The Art of Chinese Self Healing available in our book section
Each guasha tool comes in a variety of shades and slight differences in shapes as shown in the group photo.
