This stunning vintage cabinet has two doors and one inner, removable shelf. It was made in Shanxi Province in China and dates from circa 1900. This cabinet is dark brown with natural wood tones coming through and was lightly restored in an artisanal workshop in Beijing. The two doors feature emblematic artwork such as flowers, butterflies and a pair of love birds.
These 'sitting cabinets' as they are known, would traditionally sit either on another piece of furniture such as a kang or be elevated on a platform in the home. Its rustic vintage appearance make it an eye catching piece, ideal in larger hallways, as a living/dining room drinks cabinet or even as a linen closet.
