Originating from the Shanxi Province in Northern China, this low vintage table was made from Elm around 1970s. It has recently been lightly restored in an artisan workshop in rural Beijing, retaining traces of the original black paint, particularly around the legs and edges of the top.
Originally this would have been the centre of a rural home where food, tea and family stories were shared. With its compact proportions and understated finish this versatile piece makes an ideal coffee table, plant stand or devotional space.
