This vintage Chinese sideboard comes from the Shandong Province in Northern China and dates from circa 1920. The sideboard is made from elmwood and finished with brass fittings. It has recently been restored in an artisan workshop in Beijing. The piece is finished with a pale green colour, rubbed back to reveal some of the original woodwork and then topped with a gloss varnish. The internal space is divided into five compartments, two of which are separate drawers. The largest compartment in the middle is divided with a removable shelf, accessed by a pair of doors.
This piece's ample propositions and neat design mean it is an ideal, understated, storage solution for a range of spaces. Ideal in an entranceway or living room for extra storage or a media unit, it can also work in a home office or workspace as a tech and document hideaway.
Dimensions: 184(w) x 45(d) x 54(h) cm
Materials: Elm with brass fittings
