SOLD AS SEEN, there is a crack on the front of the chest just under the lock.
This vintage Chinese chest dates from the 1930s and comes from the Northern region of Gansu. It recently received very light restoration in an artisan workshop in Beijing.
This special and evocative piece contains a wealth of original carpentry and carving. It's simple and almost Shaker-like quality makes it a beautiful, understated piece for a range of interiors. Its 'treasure chest' quality also makes it a wonderful piece for a children's room or nursery where it can be used to tidy away toys and spark a thousand stories of pirates and treasure.
Also ideal as a coffee or side table, a keep safe for treasured items, or equally at home by the end of a bed.
