Visible Mending - The Art of Darning 29th March 11 - 1 pm

In this calming and creative mending workshop, Nadien invites you to unwind and dip into the art of slow stitching. You’ll learn how to visibly repair your beloved garments using darning techniques to cover moth holes, tears caused by thorny bushes, and worn-out patches such as the heel of a sock or the elbows of your cardigans.

You explore how to work with a wooden darning mushroom creating a woven patch of contrasting threads for a bold, visible mend or how to go for a more subtle, invisible outcome.

You don’t need any prior sewing experience and all mending equipment will be provided along with some refreshments and a warming cup of tea. You’re welcome to bring a damaged item that you would like to discuss repairing.

“When we make time to re-work and mend clothes, we strengthen our connection to the garment and the people we experience and share the creative process with.” – Nadien K – Wild Clothes Alchemy
