Chopstick set - Kurabi Samon

This pretty box set of chopsticks has 2 pairs, one with black base and the other with pink base handles with a gold coating representing sand patterns, accompanied by two decorative ceramic rests.  Made in Japan the set is crafted by Wakasa craftsmen.

Chopsticks made in Wakasa region are called “Wakasa-nuri-bashi (Wakasa lacquer chopsticks)”. There are many techniques for making chopsticks, and one of the most traditional technique is “Togidashi”. 

The chopsticks are approximately 23 cm long.
