Footed Ceramic Plate Black/Green

This unique plate was created by Chinese ceramicist, Wang Xinghua in Jingdezhen. Using skilled techniques they have a subtle and tactile finish but at a closer glance contains several unique design details.

This eye catching plate has a high pedestal underneath and is perfect as a table centrepiece, serving plate or simply to share a pile of decorative treats like sweets, nuts or olives.

Ceramic artist, Wang Xinghua, originally studied at the renowned Jingdezhen Ceramics University in China, majoring in ceramics. He went on to successfully set up his own studio. His approach to design and making is playful and open saying “I use some small objects in daily life to create random textures to give myself some small surprises”

Xinghua’s creations are small works of art and use the ancient practice of applying what are known as ‘engobes’ to achieve specific decorative effects.

This plate measures 21cm in diameter at its widest and is 5.5cm high.
