Kids Sewing & Stitch Workshop: Apron & Wall Hanging 5 weeks Course

Using scrap fabrics, children are invited to come and play with textiles while discovering different ways of sewing and designing. In this fun, hands-on session, they will explore both sewing machine and simple hand-stitching techniques to create their own unique apron and textile wall hanging.

With guidance, children will learn how to use a sewing machine safely and confidently, along with essential making skills such as measuring, ironing, cutting, pinning, and creating a simple pattern for their apron.

Perfect for young beginners and creative minds, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment where children can build practical skills, express their ideas, explore sustainable design, and leave with handmade pieces they’ll feel proud of.

Aika is the co-owner of Leaping Lizards, a children’s brand established in 2013, where she designs and makes the clothing on site in Highgate, North London. She previously taught Design and Technology at secondary school level and is passionate about slow fashion, thoughtful design, and hands-on craft
