You can also bring along your own broken ceramics but, you might want to give the craft a try before repairing a family heirloom. Don’t worry if you've never attempted this technique before – this class is designed specifically for beginners. You'll be amazed at the sense of accomplishment you'll feel as you witness your broken ceramics transform into beautiful artworks.
This hands-on experience will not only teach you the art of repair, but it will also provide you with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of imperfections through the philosophy of wabi-sabi. By the end of the workshop, you'll have your own gintsugi creations to take home and proudly display.

Precious Scars Studio is a brand dedicated to celebrating imperfection through the traditional Japanese craft of kintsugi. Kira Smith has been reviving broken ceramics for 6 years with a passion that stems from a deeply personal connection to the philosophy of kintsugi, where instead of hiding the broken seams that knit us together, they are honored.
Drawing from her diverse background in design and film preservation, Kira infuses her work at Precious Scars Studio with a meticulous attention to detail and a profound respect for the beauty of the past. Whether repairing cherished heirlooms or breathing new life into everyday objects, each piece that passes through the studio tells a story of care and empathy.
Beyond the studio, Kira shares her expertise through accessible workshops that invite participants to explore the art of ceramic repair. These workshops serve not only as a practical introduction or dip into the complex history of the craft, but also as a journey of self-discovery, encouraging participants to embrace their own imperfections and meet them with kindness and compassion.
