Learn the art of traditional Japanese Shibori—beautiful resist-dyeing techniques that create one-of-a-kind patterns—and dye your own bandana/handkerchief using organic indigo.
Join this fun, hands-on workshop led by Kaori Yatsumoto, a Japanese designer based in East London.
Kaori first taught herself Shibori and indigo dyeing through years of experimentation and practice before travelling to Japan to learn from experienced artisans. For the past few years, she has returned to Japan every summer to continue studying traditional techniques and deepen her understanding of this centuries-old craft.
Blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary design, Kaori creates unique clothing and accessories with a strong focus on sustainability, natural dyeing, and upcycling.
Whether you're completely new to Shibori or looking to explore Japanese textile arts, this workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring opportunity to create something truly unique.
