This teapot is made in Yokkaichi, Mie prefecture Japan where it is famous for Banko-yaki, a traditional ceramic craft technique that dates back to the 18th century. Crafted from iron rich clay, the fine soil sourced from the local mountains is refined to create non-absorbent clay.
The kyusu style teapot has a hollow handle and a built in stainless steel tea strainer.
