Vintage Blue Wooden Swan Bucket from Northern China 02

This vintage bucket was made in Northern China using traditional coopering techniques with two iron hoops binding the wooden staves and dates from the 1920s. Originally made to carry washing, the bucket is made in the form of a stylised swan with the high back as the wings, and the carrying handle and neck made in the shape of the swan's head and neck. It has recently been lightly restored in an artisan workshop in rural Beijing, but we cannot guarantee that it is still water tight. A beautiful decorative item with a textured and vibrant blue, perfect for storing magazines, newspapers, kindling wood or as planter.
